and imo the GI back and forth of previous games added a certain charm to watching the gameplay that was unique to SC. it also added a bit of a "rush" when you were in the heat of the moment. and it gave characters a chance to throw out some of their stronger tools in a timing based mixup, and have a chance to score big damage. anything could happen in a GI set.

i personally like GI alot better than JG. i feel that GI, because of the fact that it was unsafe, forced mixup, and because of the fact that there was a defense against it, was much better balanced out. JG, while good for every character defensively, particularily hurts some of the members of the cast much more severely than GI ever did. the characters who are affected by this are also often

Guard impacting was a 1 button press to immunity. You could Just Impact GRABS. Thats why they changed it to cost meter. The only way you could counter GI was a grab, but JI was a I win and could only be counter with another JI. GI and Parry were REALLY stupid annoying, while as JG is classy. And "isn't really that hard" You need a slap

mid tier or lower, so its not like they were getting a giant boost from it anyways. the system also favors more punish dependant characters(especially sword and shield characters), and allows them to consistently deal more damage vs safer opponents. it does hardly anything when concerning slower characters(such as siegfried or nm)

I have had 7-12 bounces in SCIV of GI, and let me tell you, nothing is more boring than that. In SCV if someone tries to JG you just grab them. Simple paper rock scissors, not some super duper lame bullshit.

as they cannot get enough damage off a JG to discourage the opponent from continuing to abuse the tool in question. the risk/reward then becomes skewed and/or unjustified in such cases.

grab isnt a solution to JG. not only is it not guaranteed damage VS the GUARANTEED damage they can get, they can always just option select just guard, and then duck right after to go under your grab, then punish you with a WR attack.

also think about how often GI bounces like that actually happen. when you re-GI someone you are generally making a read, not making a reaction.

Solo, its a 6 frame window at best, and that means that you press and release guard within 1 frame, AND you have to add in delayed attacks, so its not EASY to do. I can do it, because I am a pro player, but for someone picking up the game, they don't do it. THATS WHAT MAKES ITH ARD. Elitists are idiots. Get pwned by cat girl

Slayer, because everyone is amazing and they can predict a grab after a fake, sure, people can anticipate, but if you are why would you just guard? most people follow a just guard with a block, and thats where the grab comes in. Some people press A and B ANYTIME they block. there are work arounds.

neo its very easy to JG. anybody can do it with a little bit of practice. learning to JG on reaction(such as asta 22_88B) is a bit harder, but again it can be done with practice and good reactions. theres nothing pro about it(its just like how anybody can GI)

remember that after that 6frame window you can still guard and be safe. on top of that, you can shorten that window at any time using G, to remain safer at cost of JG window.

just because we dont like JG doesnt make us elitist either. if you think it does, well maybe you should take your own advice and get pwned by cat girl.

Cat girl only plays 360, silly. And imagining that one of the hardest things to do in game is easy is dumb otherwise EVERYONE would do it all the time, like people did with GI in SCIV, but because they DON'T that just shows how much more difficult it is. Eat logic!

also neo think about the reward of your grab vs the reward of a random JG. maybe off a poke it will be about equal(mixup for a mixup) but if its anything but, and if the opponent has any meter at all, chances are you're losing much more than them. on top of that advantage is supposed to be a GOOD thing. JG defeats the purpose of advantage and disadvantage being in the game.

except that there is something called skill and the downtime from repeating just guard, so if someone throws a fake and you attempt a just guard and they follow with an advantage gaining move, you have to eat it, thats the game.

lol thats not logic at all. people dont do it because either they dont practice it or it doesnt cross their minds. if you honestly think that JG is hard, you need to hit training, practice, stop playing online and go hit up some offline locals.

you dont have to eat it. you may have to block it(or you may be able to duck/step it depending on the speed or situation), but you dont get punished at all.

There is no offline locals in Kansas City. the only people who seem to play is me and weaponX. And I am good at just guarding, but I am in the top .01% of players. You need to realize not everyone is pro, and some shit is hard, just guard is one of these things.

Realize this game has 3 meters, Edge, guard, and health. YOU ARE EATING DAMAGE SOMEWHERE. Eithere your guard is getting hurt or your health or the fact you aren't gaining edge meter, because the timer keeps going. This is all part of the game. YOU ARE BEING PUNISHED.
