Pretty complicated., lol....
I'm using an old device I used like 2 years ago to record VHS and Wii output, Pinnacle 710-USB. It takes RCA input. I've tried using both VirtualDub and Sony Vegas as capture devices, and no matter what I do I just get a still image of the PS3 startup screen, or everything just crashes.
Honestly I highly support this product... its only like $150 right now, and it can record ANY HDMI device. Like if you have a bluray player and want to save a movie file and maybe downgrade it to DVD format or anything really... can also record off your computer ONTO YOUR COMPUTER...
Sweet, sweet. Thanks for the recommendations, guys.
It's time to invest in a real HD capture device.
Look like the vids I planned on doing will have to wait a bit, but at least the vids will look a lot better lol! =D
Actually, could both of those devices be used for streaming as well as strictly capture? Interested in getting into that as the scene in my hometown is growing quite a bit.
if you want to stream you should get a capture card, I used to have a REALLY good one written down, but I have formatted my laptop since then and don't remember the link. If I find it (i am busy at work at the moment) I will link it.
if you wanna do streaming with a usb device, you'll probably have to use some kind of program to capture the video from the capture softwares window since alot of them arent compatible with streaming sites.
