It's been revealed that every Yoshi has to pass the title to next Yoshi. Hence why Yoshi the second sought to do the same mission like the first. In a sense, the blade they wield is evil. But if they slay evildoers, the blade will keep the owner sane. Otherwise, it'll corrupt Yoshi.
