May I ask why SCV isn't a main game in tournaments? I really like watching it. I'm just wondering if theres a reason. Is it entrants?

So I've played the series a decent amount but recently I've really been wanting to get into Soulcalibur. I'm not new to fighting games at all, just SC5 and I'm wondering if it is too late? I don't mean from a learning curve perspective either. I mean is this game still alive? Would I be wasting...
