As psylo, man I'm saying they should consider more endangered animals for pet-hood. Some of our local california endangered species like the black footed ferret and channel island fox were actually kept as pets by native americans. I bet people would breed them right out of the danger zone.

Yeah... all it would really take is for people to actually care about that specific animal. But, I think the reason some animals do much better in that sense, is that some are just plain easier to care for. I've met breeders now that have like tons and tons of these little geckos... it would be a lot harder to do that with other animals that take so much care/supplies. They really need an NPO to back them up.

Cute animals. Its a shame that they are endangered.
