Resident Evil 5 demo for 360

Cla

LET'S FIGHTING!
It came out only in Japan some days ago. Luckily, it is obtainable in US easily.

Follow this simple vid:

Basically, download and extract (RAR format) the demo at the link provided in that vid's description and burn it onto any type of blank CD using DeepBurner. Other programs may work, but DeepBurner is free and known to work.

The demo is short, but awesome. You can try single and co-op. (online and offline) The new controls are clearly Gears Of War inspired. (Strafing finally possible) Not bad, just interesting. I hate the lack of a southpaw option, but at least you can change the controls to RE4 style. (but Run and Action are still switched for some reason. And then there's no way to strafe anymore)

Anyone else try it yet?

Yeah I've been playing it. I broke down and went to demonoid and downloaded it though, because those rar files were a major pain in the ass. It's short, but a fucking blast to play with a competent partner.

lol At the Assembly. If you get on top of the bus, the executioner just wanders around downstairs confused the entire time, while you kill everyone else until the chopper shows up.

I did. Can't wait for it to come out in the US, because loading off the CD takes for freaking ever (thank you very %$&#ing much, Capcom, for region coding a damn demo).

I don't understand why everyone claims these controls are Gears inspired (I've seen this claim made everywhere). The only new aspect to the controls are strafing, and that's only when you're NOT aiming the gun. Aside from strafing, this is RE4 all over again. That's not bad, but it's far from Gears of War.

Speaking of not being able to strafe while aiming, that's my biggest gripe. The value of having a strafe option is to be able to move to the side while aiming. It's nice that navigating the world is a bit easier, but it would have also been very nice to be able to move while aiming.

I still don't get you folks complaining about something as UNNECESSARY as running while shooting... Did the previous RE games have them? Will this game honestly be so damn difficult without it? It's still RE, not just an FPS, yknow. rofl Not that it might not be appreciated. I certainly wouldn't complain if it had that option, but I still don't think it's ridiculously hard to manage without it.

My complaint is mainly with the inventory system. Switching weapons/healing your partner/giving them items is simply ridiculous with that damn thing. It's like "Oh, I'm gonna do this." and then I get hit by some fool with a wrench.

As far as the controls, I have no complaints whatsoever, because I changed mine back to the RE4 default. Even if they switched A and X, whatever, it's still working fine.

It's a ton of fun, and I'm glad I'm finally getting to play it. My friend and I played for hours and we're still not bored. Then again, we're huge fans of such games.

It's especially fun on the assembly stage, when you can simply jump on top of the bus, and the executioner just walks around below, looking at you sadfaced because he's too fat to jump.

The way you pull up your gun with LT and fire with RT, now run with A, and use X to interact with stuff. The only actual addition in the controls for this game is strafing, yet many buttons have changed oddly similar to Gears mapping even though these changes are unnecessary. Also to me, the new art style and graphic engine seems inspired by Gears. (obviously not copying or even that similar, just inspired) And it looks like the game won't be played as one big level anymore. But in small levels ala Gears.

Nothing wrong with it. It's just nice to see the Japanese acknowledging the merit of American games enough to make changes to their own games.

I mean clearly Gears was inspired by RE4 is some elements, and RE5 is also having some elements inspired by Gears. I think it's great that American and Japanese developers can respect each other like this.

I hope it will be possible to play Shiva in Single Play. They should really go RE0 style and let you switch between the chars on the fly.
