No more CGS... apparently...

I am still asking this question because I just don't get it.

Why don't we have gaming on TV...like in Korea where starcraft is broadcasted on live television?
Dude I spend hours just watching Korean Starcraft matches Commentated in English on Youtube, and Gomtv.net... so personally I just don’t get why it’s taking them so long.

I think that you'd have to set up in a way that it's possible to get viewers. CGS occupied a tiny niche from one satellite provider. I always wondered how they were drawing any significant number of viewers given that arrangement. Set something like that up on Sci-Fi or some channel with broader access. (Hey, if they have idiots competing in a reality show just to play GoW2 early...)

I don't see why it'd be impossible to set up a professional FG league. Just cut away the bloated corp hivemind that decided things like GM's, random gender specific leagues, keep specific clans (Like PMS) from being able to seed tourneys at whim etc were good ideas...

The truth is that a lot of people in this community would gladly take a contract from CGS for Calibur, shame they had to go.

in reality who could afford to take a contract from cgs. Well at least i cant. I think i read somewhere that if you are the top top winner, the best of the best, you still only make a max of around $25,000 per year. (someone please correct me if im wrong on that figure.) Try living in expensive ass california, with 2 kids and trying to raise a family, and someone elses family due to alamony and child support (which i pay before my rent). You couldnt do it. Its really dissapointing isnt it. When you see a football player that rides the bench all season long and basiclly shows up for practice and makes 6 figures!! We as americans are so hung up on our sporting events, celbrities, etc. The reason they make so much damn money is because we want it (as a whole country) we are the only country that spoils our celebrities like that.
I personally would LOVE to see a professional gaming league that is on TV every sunday to get it on with the latest fighting game or any game for that matter. But it would require bigger sponsers, people not to hire thier friends and call then "general managers". unfortuantly CGS fell to the typical coperate downfall that 95% of comapnies fall to. To many employees, Way to much overhead and not enough revenue and/or investors to cover it all!

From what I know, people that were in it had enough time to hold down a job on top of it. But anyways, If people want Calibur to become a game that can be played professionally they shouldn't be wanting things like CGS to fail.
