Game of Thrones Discussion Thread (Books and Show)

I literally just read through all 41 pages of this thread. No regrets.

I just had a few things to say about the series. Arya is da bes because left handed. At first I didn't really like Catelyn because of what she said to Jon in the first book, but she grew on me and is one of my favorite characters. Speaking of favorites, in no particular order: Arya, Sansa, Catelyn, Cersei, Brienne. I did not like Sansa at all but after ACOK I had a softspot for her, and after her scene with Lysa and the moon door, I love her to death. Oh, and Sophie Turner is really hot so that adds to it. Cersei.... at first I loathed Cersei. But, before I began AFFC, I talked to Sophiequeen about the series, and he told me that he loves Cersei. When I started AFFC, it was like instant love. I absolutely adored Cersei and would cut anyone trying to cross her, ESPECIALLY that Margaery Hoe. I want to hate Cersei, but I love her too much. Dany is an obvious reason.

Concerning the Red Wedding, (spoilers) I think I prefer the book startup, Cat chasing after the guy and seeing the armor, and then I like how the show got rid of notJeyne. Beautifully done. But besides that omg I was in awe after I read that. I had PTSD, shellshock and any other name for it. I love Cat so when she said Not my hair, it was a slap in the feels. It was worse that in both the books and show, Cat saw it coming. From the second in the show that she saw the door close and the Rains of Castemere started playing, she knew it was over.

Concerning the Purple Wedding. I think that Joff needed to go, but I feel like his character could have been made better. As in, he could have possibly changed somehow. Not likely, but I would've liked to see a Joff with redeeming qualities instead of the pure evil one we see all the time. I also thought it'd be interesting if The Seven brought Joff back to life as their physical representation, but again, not likely.

To get this thread started again, what do you guys think about Lady Stoneheart? At the end if ASOS, I was SO happy and ecstatic. But then AFFC at Brienne's last chapter, it was the only part of the whole ASOIAF series that I actually teared up.

Stoneheart OP. I'm REALLY hoping for the finalé scene to be Stoneheart SO GODDAMN MUCH.

Interesting thoughts about Joffrey, I actually found the show softened him up a little once Marg came along. He was still a brat, but he was starting to present a nicer side. Not a nice side, of course, but a nicer one. It's interestnig though, that ultimately you have to remember he was a 13 year old boy with unlimited power, so it made sense as to why he was as he was. What is it Bronn said about picking the wings off flies? Still, I'm glad he went, and I still have weird feelings about it.

Yessss that will be great if the Ep 9 is the scene where Tyrion escapes and goes on a rampage with his crossbow, and Ep 10 will be She don't speak, but she remembers.

It just goes to show how powerful GRRM writing is to make people cheer when a 13 year old suffered and died (even if he did deserve it).

What do you think of Arya's story with the Faceless Men? I like it, but I wish she could still be in Westeros so she could destroy everyone.
