How young is too young to play sc4??

My son is 8 years old. I put a controller in his hand when he was old enough to know the difference between green, red, blue etc.

I like to play player matches with him. We switch off every other round and have a great time. people are actually impressed on how good he is for being so young. However, I get some people that think its totally cool that I play with my son and give me compliments on how cool that is. On the other hand I get people that hate on me and say that im a horrible parent for letting my kid play such violent games.

I had a talk with my son a long time ago explaining the difference between video games and reality. He understands that completly and I have had not one issue at school, home or anything! Im blessed with a well behaved kid that i expect great things for in his future.

My question: Whats the opinion of the forum on how young is to young to let kids play this game. I personally dont think its a matter of age but a matter of maturity. My son seems to be mature enough to play this game no problem. i also let him play games such as Ninja gaiden, call of duty, tony hawk series (all of these games are way more violent in my opinion). I firmly believe that some kids or ok to play this game and some kids are not. I get most of the hate from people that dont have kids so those opions dont matter to me at all!

whats your take?

If the controller will not fit through the mother's uterus, the child is too young to play Soul Calibur.

Other than that, s'all good.

Old enough to pee, old enough for me.

As long as he's mature enough to know the difference between a video game and real life, it's fine.

For me,once my future daughter/son are about 3 years old,Imma give them a Super Nintendo controller and see how they roll with it. If they like it,then they'll become good gamers.

But anyways,I think you're a good parent for sharing the things you enjoy with your son,it gives you guys some quality time. You explained to him the difference between reality and video gaming, which is also a plus. As far as I'm concerned,if he's not going around with a MK47 or a Uzi shooting at people and picking up on hoes [GTA],then it's ok for him to play video games. I know some people think that it's wrong due to some recent articles on kids pulling off stunts they've seen in video games and end up taking another kids life,it can make games look bad,but if you're a good parent and make your child understand the difference, then I don't see what the problem is.
