So I had a Gamestop gift card that I was going to hold on to forever and ever. There's nothing really too interesting on the horizon for me. So I noticed DoA5 was $20, so I decided to give it a try.
The game is a lot faster than I expected. Strings feel like they come out faster than most 2D jab pressure. What are my basics? PP? 2P? Throw? I feel like zoning / good spacing isn't a thing, or it's very subtle. How do the characters actually vary (lol)? How does wake up work? How do I fuck someone's day on wake up? How do I keep my day from getting fucked when I wake up? Why are there 1 million throws per character? Does side step actually evade attacks?
I haven't actually played people yet. I was sort of blind sided by the online pass thing. I'm more likely to play people in my area than jumping into online, but I do want to have some basics before I throw myself into that.
