Game of Thrones Discussion Thread (Books and Show)

Got it in one Slade.

I saw that before the show and spent the entire episode being huffy. Great episode though, least like the books to date.

Olena and Tywin. Brilliant.
 
My "The Climb" rant:
  • I really hate Alik Sakharov, he writes the episodes with the most changes (thank him for WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS?!)
  • If you're going to add a character like Ros to the show, WHY DOES SHE NEED TO DIE IN AN OVERLY FETISHIZED AND SEXUALIZED WAY?!
  • I find their lack of loyalty to most of the King's Landing story appalling, considering how important it is
  • Not gonna lie, I did a lot of crying for Sansa and Ros
  • Can Lena Headey get her nomination already, thank you Emmy committee, and you might want to get her address, so you can send her the real award
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE OLENNA-TYWIN SCENE SATAN TAKE THE WHEEL
  • I'm glad I didn't have to see Natalie Dormer's face this episode, it vexes me
  • The literal climb was pretty underwhelming, thank you for being lame Jon. I feel so surprised that you failed to entertain me. Go get naked again, Kitty
  • Did I mention I hate Margaery? Yeah, it was refreshing to not see or hear Natalie Dormer
  • Sophie Turner is my goddess now, she's added to my list of people I need to do art of
  • I really hate Littlefinger, please throw yourself out of the moon door/let Alayne rape you with a sword
  • Dear Alik Sakharov,
    "death by fire is the purest death"
  • I really like the Melisandre plot, and I don't know why
  • "I see a darkness in you...brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes" I'm hoping this is something from the later books, but we can never know, it might be Faceless Man foreshadowing
  • Can we please get Jojen his medication, thanks HBO
  • I'm glad they skipped out on Daenerys this week, but I'm beginning to worry about something else...

My current forecast for the rest of the season:
"The Bear and the Maiden Fair" - Jaime and Brienne bear pit, Arya leaving with Sandor, Daenerys meeting with the slave lord outside of Yunkai and denying him, Sansa and Cersei hang out and talk about Tyrion, Shae/Tyrion drama, Jon/Ygritte love scene or mushiness, Robb/Talisa love scene, Joffrey hasn't been around in a while so why not, Margaery and Loras nonsense, the fallout of Ros' death, Melisandre returns to Dragonstone, the Northern host leaves Riverrun

"Second Sons" - Daenerys meets Daario and Mero, Daario betrays the Stormcrow captains, Tyrion-Sansa wedding, Melisandre tries to have sex with Gendry, Stannis talks to Davos, Arya and Sandor have cute talks about Sansa or something, Catelyn has a breakdown on the way to the Twins and talks to Robb, Sam the Slayer/Coldhands, no Jon or Bran

"The Rains of Castamere" - The Red Wedding, NOT MY HAIR, Jon escapes from the wildlings, Bran wargs Hodor, Daario and Jorah will probably make the connection between the Yunkai-Meereen baby which I think is going to happen, Arya and the Hound arrive and escape but they'll probably pretend like Arya is dead and not show her til season 4, and maybe one Lannister scene before anything big happens

"Mhysa" - Tywin confronts Joffrey about Ros and his cruelty, Davos saves Gendry and brings Stannis the letter from the Night's Watch, Jon will not be shown, Daenerys takes Yunkeen and the slaves worship her, Lady Stoneheart, maybe a Sansa-Tyrion scene where she finds out about what happened, Cersei scene with Margaery

OKAY NOW TIME TO EXPLAIN YUNKEEN:
From what I've seen, David and Dan (Dick and Douche) have decided to COMBINE Yunaki and Meereen, seeing as there is not enough room on the opening map for another city, and that the show!Yunkai has a GRAND PYRAMID WITH A HARPY ON TOP. MEEREEN IS THE ONLY ONE WITH PYRAMIDS. Jorah even says something like "We don't need Meereen" but he SAYS YUNKAI
