From what I can tell, most of the enemies are pulled straight out of NG2's London stage. The Commando Mercs and lots of missile/rocket launchers. Very few - if none at all - ninja type enemies from NG1 or NG2, which means very few Ninpo/Onmyo mages.

As far as the story is concerned, the narrative seems stronger. At the very least they try to personalize Ryu and make less of a stoic/robotic character. In all honestly, it seems like with the narrative, they were trying to create some sort of throwback to the original NES series which featured a very focused narrative for its time. If you think about it, many action games today follow the same sort of mold that the NES Ninja Gaiden series started by opening and ending each level with a cinematic.

To me, though, it still doesn't really explain why the game is considered poor. Is the issues more along the lines of a lack of weapons in the original PS360 games? Or the dismemberment mechanic featured in NG2 that allowed for quick dispatching of targets? Or did Ultimate Techniques become even more abusable than prior games?
 
I honestly didn't play the final build of NG3. From what it seemed, the difficulty level was much lower and the weapons were all DLC and non-upgrade-able. In that vein, the two things that signified the new gen Ninja Gaiden (Difficulty + Weapon Depth) weren't a part of it. So many looked at it as hardly up to par with the numerical change. Also, yes, the UT felt very abusable from the build I played.
 
Just got the Legendary Swimsuit for Tina. Used the Lei Fang method. High tier level player now! :P Seriously while I would say I'm ok at DOA there's a reason it has Scrub on my profile.

Something like 286 titles now. Really dunno if I can do the survivals. Definitely doing Tag Arcade and Time Attacks though.

Also managed to play some online. Actually seems a bit better. Not as good as Virtua Fighter 5 (Which is the standard) or Soul Calibur V but a good chunk better than DOA4. Until it chucked me out of a match and said I had signed out. I actually sent an apology to the guy I fought.

Also random thought... Dead or Alive Vs Virtua Fighter. Dural and Raidou tag as the final boss. Judgement 6 and MIST conspiracy madness. Also Honey from Fighting Vipers because VF needs more. MORE.

Also thinking about it Lisa really needed a chapter just before the end to explain the Face turn. I mean Christie and Lisa play the Baraka and Reptile roles of jobbers which would be fine until Lisa is all like "OMGLOLIMMAGONNAHALPUNINJARSNAO!" I mean 3 basic fights where she with the power of America and Friendship and of course tits (Tina)she realises the errors of her ways and vows to help the ninja brotherhood of jailbait.

Edit: (because its not worth the new post) DUNIT! 300 titles and Christie's swimsuit.

And just one extra skin for Alpha? Really?

Mind you just happy to finish it now. All I gotta do is survival mode and Lisa's swimsuit. And that may never happen.
