I have to agree with you here. I am interested in helping bridge theists and atheists together as well (or was rather), but the trolling is high in this thread... And the other one as well. I think we should just let the matter rest and close the threads, you can't change someone's beliefs with an ALL CAPS INSULT AND TROLLING BARRAGE or a crappy hippie article. We're not getting anywhere with this discussion.

I did read the article you posted though, and all I must say is whoever wrote it had no idea of how atheism works. Nice try tough.

In that case, I have no idea either, because all of it sounds to me like something that atheists are always going on about. The part about the Christians was pretty spot on too, regarding most christians that is. Care to elaborate on what he was wrong about, because I honestly have no idea.

To Christians

1. How do YOU know that god exists? Have you actually seen him?
2. Look at all the other religions in the world. Why is yours considered the right one? Each religion contradicts the next, so Christianity is just as feeble in truth as the others
3. Christians die exactly like people who don't believe in god. It's the human race that makes miracles not god e.g. I.e. the notion of medicine to cure human illnesses. Definitely not god's work but the work of the human mind.
4. The bible is COMPLETELY unjustified. So how can you prove that anything in it is true?

1.Well is like, the pretty litle nit thing in life, everything to life exist , if you look deep in the formation of life and the planet itself, is all about the minimal things that need to happen to life exists we need the rigth sun, mon,distance of the sun,quantittation of oxigenio, thing that are to especific to be simply "luck"

2.In my sincere and humble opinion we may very well be worshiping the same very god in diferent ways of cousr,but there indeed to many misterys, and so we cant asume who is rigth who is wrong ,mostly old fashioned christians have such small mind

3.Well i gona put this way, no medice can explain some cases of survive not even doctors thesmselfs can explain, and about miracles god help i think but, we need assistance

4.To be sincere, bible is most the thing like,"Hum i think i misguided maybe i should go for some adivice" or i really need something to calm donw , se bible have free interpretation

I think you're assuming too much. First, you assume that because Atheists don't believe in a God doesn't mean we don't pursue knowledge and understanding. You're saying that a whole group of people are just content with the answers in front of us. That's like me saying everything a religious person needs to know is in a religious text and they're content with that. One could even make the argument that since atheists have to find their own answers they have to perceive more and so pursue more. Then, you assume that God keeps things going. Maybe because the bible tells you you already know. But there are people out there not satisfied with explanations without proof. And God or not there are plenty of things we don't know about our own world let alone the Universe. Some Christians I've spoken to at least resign themselves to the possibility that God doesn't have an active role in keeping Physics and existence going. It may all be a machine that God started and then left it do it's thing. But why should I care. I'm just a imperceptive atheist with no ambition.

Disclaimer: I am not a christian nor religious. I am theist.

I said that atheists are content with the universe. While theists pursue beyond the universe.

My beliefs and science don't contradict. Science simply explains how the universe works and reverse engineers nature introducing technology. It doesn't not disprove God nor can it. If anything it does the opposite.

What is the proof of God?

God is just a name out of thousands that are given for the source of existence, so we can call IT anything. God is not a man in the sky. You're looking at It. You are It. And you're experiencing It. It is the universe and everything that encompasses it and beyond. It is limitless. From positive infinity to negative infinity. It is as it was, as it is and as it will be. That with no beginning and thus no end.

And this Universe is an infinitesimal part of It.

And that's it, it's not even that important a question if you think about it. It does absolutely nothing for anyone IMO.

I understand where you're coming from, but in reference to question 2, Christianity is just like any other religion. Christian beliefs are completely dissimilar to that of Hinduism, and Islam vice-versa. There are so many religions to the point where none of them seem at all credible.

I agree with you UnseenWombat, most people on this thread attack your beliefs if you just state that your a christian, like come on me being Christian dosen't mean that I am part of any of instutitions you atheist hate so much. My religion and my faith is between me and my God, explaining that got me called an hypocrit XD

Also before judging the religion, you should learn it because some people are speaking out of their asses like the dude who said Jesus was killed by a roman empereror.
