Basic Q&A Thread

As a new player, I found the resources for everything else bar one thing and it is not mentioned as if it's taboo (as in, not even things in the SCV tutorials, resources on this site and even the game manuals mechanic explanations) is JUST inputs? What is meant by a JUST input and what effect does it have on moves? How does one perform a JUST input?

Would be greatly appreciated. Now if you excuse me, time to go and get my rear-end handed to me by kilik in legenary souls mode again (maybe this time I might just shove that kali-yuga up his sunless area).
 
In other words, you must either perform that move as fast as possible or there is a timing involved to get the second/third/fourth hit.
 
Random question: Loving the game so far, but am having a problem when I try to sidestep (not the normal sidestep, but the one when trails of wind follow your character, forgot what it's called :P ). The problem is that I use a normal PS3 joystick, it works fine when I try it with the D-Pad, but it seems like I can never do it with the normal analog stick. Any tips on how to do this? Or do people use the d-pad for this move?
