The Bleach thread

Don't dis the Eva...series was genius (though you HAVE to watch the movie ending...really the movie is what made it amazing). Took me hours to decipher after watching the ending and was just an intense mindfuck of mythology (Shinji = second coming of Christ that kickstarts the apocalypse and creates the new adam and eve of the new world. I felt like I was figuring out the Da Vinci code linking it all). Most people didn't understand it and felt it was just supposed to be just random and artistic in that nature...it actually all made sense in the end...you just really had to think. I don't think you can knock a masterpiece like Eva...and then promote...this kind of anime. It's like comparing Blink 182 to Motzart...their just two different leagues...and ones aimed at kids who love formula, predictability, and gimik without substance. Once again...general anime belongs in general anime thread :/

I say that anything associated with shonen jump (or anything shonen really) can be classified as general anime. As for the overall quality of them, that's another matter (my opinions! no, my opinions!). Either way, let mods do whatever they feel like. If this thread has lasted this long without being locked then it should be fine. Maybe we can make another thread for those anime series that are all deep and shit.

Well I'd make a general manga topic but I dunno if theres enough interest...seems like people here only read manga if it's associated with a super popular anime like bleach/naruto/one piece. a lot of really great mangas dont have anime versions...
 
The Naruto Thread

This is a separated thread about Naruto... its Anime and its Manga.

as we all know the Anime is in its "fillers" stage right now. The next "real" battle should be the Pein saga.

as for Manga - latest edition out HERE - i think Naruto will go sage and hopefully kill sasuke.
