Right on point! As I had stated in an admittedly controversially titled article of my own on SRK, it doesn't matter how good your game is if there is no community to back it up. A game doesn't play itself, if you want a game to succeed, then you're going to have to get people interested in it.
Also, I heartily agree with Rule #3. Surprisingly enough, there's a good number of us who actually just enjoy fighting games in general and are disappointed with how insular the sub-communities within the FGC can get. This is why I've at least tried my best on the SRK front page - I believe I've actually posted more none Capcom news on there than the others. And, at the same time, trying to engage with other communities (8WR, FreeStepDodge, etc.)

I'm not surprised by the presence of a large group who recognize the pitfalls of insularity. My largest concern is that people who think that way often lack opportunities to express it. We, as players, need to take a more active role in determining our own discourse, to get all fancy about it. Basically, it's time we gave ourselves permission to get along with one another to a degree and unite in our efforts to raise the profiles of all competitive fighters.
