Bin Laden is DEAD!

The dictionary has it. Too many people would agree that killing unnecessary people in order to target one killer defeats the purpose of what was righteous in the first place. So it's not quite semantics. It's not like using the wrong word interchangeably with something else. It's very inaccurate.

Hopefully now that hes dead, people that lost loved ones on 9/11 can close something, anything in thier grieving. I really hope that some people can rest a little better at night.

With this triumphant event comes positive and negative. I prefer to stay in the positive.

Id like to thank those that have sacrafcied being with thier families & lives lost to protect us.

Thank You to all the armed forces for what you do for this country.

Now im gonna back to my fellow hillbilly's and get on with my life

Where are you guys coming up with the killing of innocent people???? I am talking about the murder of Bin Laden. Killing the innocent is murder, even a child knows that. Stop confusing the war in Iraq and the middle east with what happened yesterday. Yesterday was Justice. Civilians were NEVER the target.

Senzait: I'm thinking more in terms of the war on "terror". That vague concept in which thousands died for no reason. Some soldiers were even caught killing innocent civilians "for the lulz." You can't have justice for something so vague. Better example: Batman is justice. America is not. Well okay, batman is sort of pushing it too since he's a vigilante. Superman is justice...but he was created by a canadian. So, Canada is justice. For example, I take full responsibilty for hilde being banned. I am justice.

What are you talking about???? LOL Germany after WW1?? In what way, shape or form does this compare to Germany after the first world war????

Osama was a symbol of hate, and thus was also the most hated man on earth. Bringing him down was the archetypal act of good beating evil. People can say there is no such thing as Justice, there is only Punishment but that is mere semantics. He was the architect of 9/11 thus killing him is the ultimate act of avenging those who died that day. If that's not Justice I don't know what is.
Of course it wont bring anyone back from the dead, but ask the families of the people that died that day if this isn't a glorious news to them?

The only thing that makes it similar to post WW1-Germany is the fact that there (in this case, potentially) could be large numbers of people thirsting for revenge over there. Admitedly, it was a bad comparison though. My bad.

You keep going on about Justice, yes it is will seem like Justice from our point of view, but potentially not theirs. And we've gotta retain the bond of trust between our countries and places like Pakistan. Like I said before, they've been awfully quiet, we dunno how people are reacting to Bin Laden's death over there. Yes, things are in the favour of something closer to peace now, but what if this event incites further terror attacks and stuff like that? It wouldn't really be glorious news to the family of the deceased then. Chances of this happening are somewhat low, but it's possible, and that's all I'm trying to say. It's something that should be considered before going into full party celebration mode, like I've seen hundreds of people do on the news.
