Project Ten Dollar is a digital initiative EA's planning to do in order to tackle the used game market. Basically, consumers that buy new games are given a code to download additional content, while users who buy the game second hand will have to pay $10 to access the missing extras.

What do you think of this idea?

I don't really care either way. I kinda prefer the idea that when you buy a game, you're free to do with it whatever you like. This whole, "you're only buying a limited license that shouldn't transfer." idea that game companies want to operate on isn't all that attractive to me.

It's not like they don't make money reselling old titles in various digital formats etc as it is. Also, game stores have a terrible profit margin on new titles. Most of their profit comes off used game sales.

i think its disgracefull, another tactic for big business to squeeze out a few more bucks.
i buy a game , i want 100% of the game to be on the disc. new maps or what-not a year after release, fine. but to intentionally hold stuff back in this way is pretty low.
