SUPER Street Fighter IV! Official Discussion

I didn't play SF4 much, but my impression was that counterattacks for wakeup didn't make sense at all. As in, if the opponent is Ryu and he's rising up from the ground, him doing a dragon punch will beat anything you try to use. Shouldn't an EX attack beat his dragon punch? I hope that changes in Super SF4.

Edit: Nevermind, I was talking to Tiamat and he informed me that invincible attacks are very common in 2D fighters and it's unlikely to change.

Dragon punches are extremely vulnerable after whiff, so just don't attack when you think that he's going to panic, or space yourself properly to avoid a dragon punch even if you attack.

Its a dynamic that's been around since SF2, that heavily rewards smart risk takers and quick decision makers.
